The certified gemologist who did the appraisal was extremely impressed with them and said that the quality--the color, the cut, etc--were far nicer than diamonds she usually sees even in engagement rings. They looked so good that I had to take them to a jewelry store to varify that they were real and not CZ. The sales rep put them on a diamond tester and told me that they were indeed real and that I made a great purchase. I never did tell him how much I paid for them, but I asked him how much his store would sell the diamonds. He gave me a rough guess of $500.00 more than I paid, plus I didnt have to pay any sales tax.
